The Horry County Solid Waste Authority has awarded 11 scholarships to high school seniors who plan to continue post-secondary education in an environmental field. Each recipient served as a volunteer to help with environmental education projects and will receive a $1,000 scholarship. Read more.


Ann HallHall named principal for Loris Middle School

Ann Hall has been appointed to become the next principal of Loris Middle School. Currently an assistant principal at Loris Middle School, she will transition to become the principal in July when Judy Beard transfers to become the principal of Whittemore Park Middle School. Read more.


Lauren RoseLoris High School artist wins Congressional Art Contest

Lauren Rose, a senior at Loris High School, is the winner of the Congressional Art Competition. Lauren will represent South Carolina's First District with a work that will hang in our Nation's Capital in Washington, D.C for a year. Lauren met Congressman Tim Scott and received an award for her artwork. Read more.
